Heather Gresham, originally from New Zealand and Sydney has been living in the beautiful Forster region for the last 10 years. She has ‘retired’ to a small farm and is now working harder than ever!
Heather started working life as a Primary School teacher and was then promoted to mother and foster-mum. During these child raising years, she was extensively involved wi
th voluntary programmes for young children and their families. She then worked for several years in pastoral care for the aged.
Heather was drawn to the work of the FNC as she became aware of the shortfall of services available in Forster-Tuncurry, especially for those experiencing suicidal ideation. After becoming connected with the Kahi Simon Foundation and the Evolve Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in Newcastle, she became very passionate about bringing these services to Forster region to enable ALL people to access care. She is committed to assisting the FNC to gain a purpose- built facility and to extend their services to make a positive difference for everyone in any need.
Heather regards her life journey as her greatest qualification but also values her Diploma of Teaching, Batchelor of Education, Master of Education and especially her Diploma of Chaplaincy (completed here in Australia, which informed and educated her on how best to respectfully care for and empower people from all backgrounds).
