What is the Better Learning Hub?
Better Learning Hub is a community program run by Forster Neighbourhood Centre and developed with input from elders and the community, delivered by volunteers to help primary age Aboriginal students do the best they can at school. Once a week, each child works one-on-one with a volunteer tutor to concentrate on the areas most needed and/or of most interest to that student.
Our aim is to make learning fun and keep students engaged so they want to come back. All our tutors have Working with Children checks and are carefully trained in how to support Aboriginal kids in their learning. We learn, eat and play games together!
